Scott’s Store opened at the crossroads in 1869; the community took the name Scottsboro in 1902. The gateway to the Bend, with a USDA-era community club whose clubhouse still stands on Old Hydes Ferry Pike.

Bells Bend large-parcel holdings
The May family purchased 682 acres of the former Graves farm in March 2021. No development application is on file; we monitor the Development Tracker and Parcel Viewer.
Highland Rim Forest conservation funding
The Alliance's goal: 12,000 more conserved acres by 2040. Metro's RS2025-1549 would formally name Nashville's Highland Rim Forest; June budget hearings are the recurring pressure point.
A smaller Metro Council?
The State may compel a smaller Metro Council. If that happens, District 1's lines and representation change materially. The places on this site — and this site — aren't going anywhere.
