What happened

Metro Council adopted RS2025-1556 on October 21, 2025 (approved by the Mayor 10/23/2025). It approves the grant application: a TN Heritage Conservation Trust Fund grant of up to $1,699,822 to The Conservation Fund in partnership with Metro Parks, with a $1,000,000 Metro cash match. The Conservation Fund would purchase and hold the land for transfer to Metro. (Metro Legistar)

Why it matters

Beaman Park is Nashville’s second-largest park at 2,370 acres, entirely within the district, and one of the anchors of Nashville’s Highland Rim Forest. The 308-acre addition continues the district’s longest-running civic project: conserving the forest that covers 80% of it.
